Forget the Man City/Liverpool battle for the Premiership. Cast aside Manchester United's miraculous defeat of Paris St Germain. The biggest and best thing to happen this season, is that Blackpool FC have finally rid themselves of the odious Oyston family. Never, ever, have fans been so devoted to ousting tyrants who have milked them and their club dry.

The EFL have done absolutely nothing, during the long dark years that this has been going on. Charlton Athletic, Coventry City, and others, have all suffered from people rinsing their clubs, who should never have been allowed to be in the position to do it in the first place. True to form, the EFL are pondering whether to deduct Blackpool 12 points, therefore scuppering any chance of promotion this year. At least they're consistent in their mediocrity. Chris Grayling would be totally at home there. I suspect the fans don't care, now the plague of rats has been finally exterminated.

So tomorrow should be a sea of tangerine coloured joy, all around Bloomfield Road and the town itself. The true spirit of football has won, after far too many years of suffering, which will make the celebrations all the sweeter for it.

Colin Murray is quite pleased, too.

Not forgetting Brighton and Hove Albion, whose directors illegally sold their ground against the Articles Of Association in the mid 90s, were nearly relegated from the league, had to play 70 miles away in Gillingham and then at a local athletics ground, but thanks to fan power now get 30,000 in their brand new stadium and on their way to Wembley (hopefully!).
Fan power at its best!

A glorious (the weather obliged too) day for Blackpool FC on Saturday - much rejoicing in the town - it's been a long haul.

Huge respect to the fabulous fans who never gave way to the despicable Oyston family.

I expect a film to be made about this... Cool Laughing Wink

Yes. I'd forgotten about them having to go to Gillingham! I know they had a couple of seasons at the athletics stadium. Quite amazing, how they managed to survive that lot. Nice win at Palace last Saturday, too. Much needed.

Should be an interesting game at the New Den this weekend.

If they don't use the Tangerine Dream title, then Owen Me, Owing You, might be a suitable alternative...

Raver: I'm looking forward to Sunday. It seems both managers have come out with the usual cliche of wanting to 'concentrate on the league'. Well, I bet both sets of fans and players would give anything for a semi final appearance at Wembley!

May the best team win.

Sure would, Schiz. I remember when Jimmy Melia's Brighton, with Steve Foster as captain, came so close to lifting the trophy.

Millwall have had a funny old season. Awful in the league, for the most part. I think they'd rather stay up than anything, but who wouldn't want to win a chance to go to Wembley? Personally, I'd like to see Man City get knocked out - but can't see Swansea doing that. It'd be down to the Wolves and Brighton, I would think. Same goes for Brighton, really, doesn't it? All the teams at the bottom are picking up points, save for Huddersfield and Fulham, who both look doomed.

But like you, I think the fans want a good cup run. It's a crying shame the way the FA Cup has been so devalued over the years. An automatic Champs League place for the winner, would solve it, I believe, but that won't happen. Spreading the fixtures over three days doesn't help matters, either. Very sad.

I agree totally about the devaluation of the FA Cup, surely the greatest Cup competition in the world. It annoys me when top teams field weakened sides with the aim of getting knocked out. Trouble is, the Premiership is what it's all about, thanks to Murdoch.

I don't mind City winning it, I'd quite like to see them get the quadrupel.

Well, there's no doubt that they're more than capable of winning all four trophies. They have a much stonger squad than anyone else, by far. I think they could quite easily field two teams that would finish in the top six of the Prem.

My concern is that they will dominate English football, to the extent that it'll become like Celtic in Scotland. Pep's already made it known that he'll be looking for a left back next season (Chilwell) and a covering defensive midfielder (AN Other, possibly Kante?).

I think Liverpool have done well to stay in touch this far into the season, given their limited squad and lack of creative midfielders. They badly miss Oxlade-Chamberlain, but there was a chink of light at the weekend, when Adam Lallana started his first game for ages, instead of the odd cameo as a sub, and plated really well. So maybe they'll push City all the way, while Pochettino has worked miracles with such limited resources. I don't believe anyone else could have achieved what he has, in such circumstances.Though I do think he brought Kane back in too early, from his injury, though. The team were doing well, had good balance and Song was enjoying being number one for a spell. This is not hindsight. I thought he'd have Harry on the bench for a couple of games, bringing him on, depending on the situation at the time.

If either Liverpool or Spurs pick up at least one trophy this season, I'll be very happy. But City appear an unstoppable juggernaut at the moment. That said, Watford were containing them quite well last week, until the referee overruled his linesman's correct call for a blatant offside. A bizarre decision. I'm not a big VAR fan, but owing to the mediocrity of our officiials, we have to have it.

I agree about City's domination, a bit like Celtic, but I think it's more a problem with the top 6, who have dominated the league for the last few years and will do, and who will win all the Cups. The 'bottom' club of the top 6 are 13 points ahead of no 7. It's really a mini league.

Yes. Three little leagues really, Schiz. Top six, then a few others - Leicester , who should have more points than they have, Wolves, West Ham, Watford and any other team beginning with W, along with whoever has a decent season...then the ones who scrap it out to avoid relegation. I'm quietly optimistic that Leicester can challenge the top six next season. Losing Kante and Mahrez would affect most teams. Wolves should improve as well, with a couple of signings, so I think it's more competitive that most leagues. Look at La Liga, Bundesliga and Italy. Usual suspects.

Had Liverpool to win 2-1 tonight. Gutted!

Sorry Old Raver! You were by far the better, more incisive team in the 90 minutes, but to come back from 2-0 down with just two minutes to go....wow!

It's only Man. City next! Easy.

Cruel game. It was quite comfortable until the last few minutes. I don't think subbing the best players helped matters at all. But I really felt for the keeper, who had a faultless game, up until then. Once the first goal went in, I feared the worst, knowing Millwall's shocking record when it comes to conceding very late goals.

Pity, as they could have done with the money. I fancy Wolves to win the cup. City got away with it again last night. Second goal was never a penalty and third was offside. The officiating gets worse by the week.

Hopefully, Brighton will give them a game. Nothing to lose and they have decent centre backs - though you wouldn't think so, on today's evidence. Wembley will be a piece of cake after The Den!
Edit; In all the excitement, I forgot to mention the sending-off. Brainless doesn't begin to cover it. Neil Harris not best pleased!

Yes, the sending off (albeit very late on) didn't help Millwall. He would have been one of the penalty takers!
Albion rode their luck with our equaliser a few seconds from time, and possibly wind assisted as well!

And yes the officiating at The Den and at Swansea was dreadful. Bring on VAR for every game.

There's enough money in the game to have VAR at every ground, Schiz. Nothing short of scandalous incompetence from the FA. As per usual.

But it must be the version that other countries use, which involves the ref looking at the screen and not a decision from someone miles away in a studio, otherwise you get even more bad decisions, like the sending-off in the Wolves v Man Utd QF, that was wrongly overturned and undermined the referee. Had he had a screen to reconsider his decision and came to that conclusion, then fair enough.

Apparently, all other countries use this method. It seemed to work well in last yea's World Cup.

Unfortunately I missed both games as I was out both evenings. Can't wait till June !st.
I said to a friend of mine, a Spurs fan who I wanted to wind up, two weeks ago, that I was looking forward to the Barcelona/Ajax final. How wrong I was.
