Farewell to one of THE voices of the glorious Sixties.

Loved all of his music, from The Walker Brothers, to Scott 1, 2, 3 and 4 and even the more avant-garde albums that followed, like Climate Of Hunter and The Drift.

A voice that could melt the hardest heart.

And all this from a male point of view. Richard Williams posted something earlier, that might speak for some of the female population of the time.

A truly great voice, his version of Jacques Brel's Jackie is a tour de force such a shame that he drifted away from mainstream in his later career,
RIP Scott

I loved The Walker Brothers' three big 60s hits, Make It Easy On Yourself, My Ship Is Coming In, and The Sun Ain't Gonna Shine Any More (all covers I believe). And of course his solos, Jackie and Joanna. I'm not so aware of his later avant garde output, but I do remember Newsnight eulogising him some time ago.
Another slice of childhood gone.

It did annoy me this morning when the Radio 2 newsreader said Jacques Brel was French and then getting a song title wrong.

Scott's voice truly was one of THE voices of the 60s Raver. A sad farewell to him.

I loved Mathilde as well as Jackie, Joanna and the rest. I have a feeling Johnnie Walker played one of his tracks on his first broadcast on Caroline???

I always remember a girl in my class at school crying because having managed to get a ticket for their NCL City Hall concert, her mum wouldn't let her go. Crying or Very sad

RIP Scott.

Memories came flooding back this morning, hearing this very sad news ..memories of the wonderful sound of the Walker Brothers coming forth from Radio Caroline and Top of the Pops.

What a fabulous voice Scott had and what a talent he was....didn't hurt he was a bit of a looker either. Wink

Very sad today, thinking back to those days.

Just Gary left now of the Walker Brothers. Crying or Very sad

R.I.P Scott

Whenever I hear it, I still pause to wonder if Joanna is the best popular song performance in the history of the genre - all I can say is I have never heard anything done better.

RIP Scott

I always thought that Tony Hatch must have had Maria in mind, when he wrote that.
