It has been announced that Doris died today in California aged 97.
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-48257670 .

Que Sera and Deadwood Stage were 2 songs of hers that I liked. Mum would often sing the first one and Dad must have been a big fan too judging by the number of CDs we found when we cleared out his house!

RIP

Just seen this on Twitter from Andy Walmsley (I think he's still a member here), maybe you'd like to listen. I'll listen tomorrow.
mixcloud.com/andy-walmsley2/friday-night-is-music-night-doris-day/ …

It's 1 hour long.

I feel Doris was a little underrated, as silly as it sounds.

Whenever I saw her in a 'serious' film, such as Love Me Or Leave Me, with the great James Cagney, she more than held her own.

As for that voice...it would melt the hardest heart. It's magic.

There was a Michael Ball special on the 2nd hour of his show yesterday (19th) which was mostly his interview with Doris about 7 years ago. I happened on it by accident while driving and it was lovely.

Michael Ball Remembers Doris Day is the title if you're looking on the schedule.

Helen, there's a half hour segment of what I assume is the same conversation between Michael and Doris in Andy's tweet.
