I see from the new Radio Times that there is a 3-part radio version of The Pallisers starting on Sunday. I absolutely loved the TV version from 1974 and watch it again whenever it pops up on repeat.
I will listen and hope that it is done well. A stand-out moment for me during the TV series was when Plantagenet and Glencora come across the wastrel Burgo (whom she had loved) heavily in debt in a casino. Dear Planty pays what is owed and when Glencora thanks him he says: "He loves you, and I love you, and that makes us brothers" |

I never saw it on TV Eileen, my Mum loved it. It had a rather nice theme tune from memory which Mum had on a cassette along with other TV themes.

If you ever get a chance to see the BBC TV version, Helen, it will be well worth it. The cast list was eye-wateringly wonderful
I have just ordered the complete box set on eBay! |
