For anyone interested there is a new series of 40 programmes beginning Monday 18th Nov at 4.30pm BBC1

We record the whole series then watch when there isn't anything else on. All of the workmanship is fantastic considering the state of some of the items.

I caught one of these programmes by accident,Helen - it was a delight to watch.

Haven't caught up with any since - just don't seem to have the time.

I know what you mean Becky! We tend to watch them mid evening and sometimes stop and go back an hour later if there is something we WANT to watch! We still have half a dozen or so from the last series to watch but they are timeless.

I love The Repair Shop, H. Only discovered it by chance, earlier in the year. It's wonderful television, isn't it. Really feelgood stuff. I thought I was the only one, until a couple of well known people who I've forgotten tweeted about it. I think Ken Bruce was one.

My eldest daughter is a fan as well. I'm just a bit sad that I didn't know about it until series 4 or 5. However, I noticed today, that Quest are showing some older ones, so watched two this morning. The format has changed slightly, - in these ones, they don't save all the repaired items until the end, but the magic is still there.

I watch this programme with a smile on my face throughout, it's a wonderful show without any foolish gimmicks just a gentle glow of achievement

As I mentioned earlier I think we came to it in series 2 then recorded a whole batch last Spring. There must have been quite a break between the filming as Kirsten (the talented china restorer) had short hair in the first ones and it was shoulder length in the later ones!

We watched a really good one last night but I'm not sure which series it was from.
