The BBC’s Annual Report is out today, and reveals that Radio 2 reaches 26% of the population each week and is listened to for an average of 11hrs 20 minutes. This is down from 27.2% and 11hrs 55m in the previous year.

Still way ahead of the other stations though:
Radio 1 - 16.6% / 6hrs 14m (down from 17% / 6.21)
Radio 3 - 3.6% / 6hrs, 40m (3.5% / 6.0 Cool

Radio 4 - 19.3% / 10hrs 38m (19.3% / 10.59)
6Music - 4.4% / 9hrs, 08m (4.4% / 9.20)

Radio 2 is required to provide per year at least:
17 hours of current affairs a week.
100 hours arts programming
130 hours new documentaries
170 hours religious programming
260 hours of live music
1100 hours of specialist music
40% of music in daytime from UK acts (actually provides 51%)
20% of new music in daytime (actually provides 26%)

Graham Norton - £725,000 (Radio 2 show, BAFTA Awards, Eurovision)
Tina Daheley - £255,000 (Radio 2 Breakfast Show, BBC One News, Beyond Today, Points of View, etc)
Claudia Winkleman - £365,000 (Radio 2 show, Strictly)

Zoe Ball - £1.3m
Ken Bruce - £385,000 (includes Eurovision)
Jeremy Vine - £320,000
Steve Wright - £475,000
Sara Cox - £275,000
Jo Whiley - £280,000
Trevor Nelson - £220,000
Vaness Feltz - £405,000

Scott Mills - £345,000
Greg James - £275,000
Nick Grimshaw - £240,000
Annie Mac - £170,000
Clara Amfo - £155,000

Lauren Laverne - £395,000

I've ruminated on this for the last couple of days, on and off. Still at a total loss over Zoe's salary. Incredible.

Raver, it might be to do with her also doing the Strictly follow up show on BBC2.
I've heard that she's lost around a million listeners compared to Chris Evans.

I presume Laverne's salary includes desert Island Discs and Feltz' her local radio show.

Zoe Ball's eye-watering salary does not include what she gets for Strictly: It Takes Two - it is purely for 210 editions of the Zoe Ball Breakfast Show.

These are the salaries paid directly to presenters from the BBC, so fees paid by production companies are not included in the BBC report. Strictly is made by BBC Studios so whatever they pay Zoe hasn't been made public. Same goes for Claudia Winkleman - I mistakenly put Strictly on the list above but in fact it's just general appearances "across a range of programmes and series.

Graham Norton's company makes his chat show, so again we've no idea what he's getting paid for that (although it is one of the most-watched English-language chat shows in the world so he should be on a fair whack).

Vanessa Feltz is paid for 200 Radio 2 shows and 220 Radio London shows plus Radio 2 cover.

Lauren Laverne is paid for 210 Breakfast Shows, 40 6Music Recommends, 30 Desert Island Discs, and the Mercury Music Prize.

I seem to remember seeing/hearing that BBC's employee's salaries were negotiated by their agents so,if true, the better the salary the better the agent's negotiating skills.

Thanks for the update Ian, that does make Zoe's salary eye watering!

I think Graham Norton gets something like £3.5 million for his tv show.

I'm a bit puzzled why Steve Wright gets so much more than Ken.

To be fair, that's simple: Steve Wright's show is 30 minutes longer than Ken's plus he does Sunday Love Songs.

Ken's salary is actually up £105,000 on last year despite no longer being required to do Friday Night is Music Night.

Ken is on £1735 per show (£694 per 30mins) and Steve is on £1796 (£599 per 30mins)
