Just a heads up, Sky Arts (sky 122, and now Freeview 11) are showing a great documentary covering the Hollies career today at 3.20. It has been shown before a few times but is now available on Freeview, it will probably be repeated at sometime too lol.

Its worth keeping an eye out for music documentaries on both Sky Arts and Sky Documentary, they recently had a great two parter about the Laurel Canyon scene in the 60's and 70's

Wish I'd seen this earlier!

I'll see if I can get it on Catch Up later from Sky. I think Becky posted about this a little while ago and it's one of those shows that you think 'yeah I'll record that' but never do Rolling Eyes

Thanks for posting!

I saw this at about 4.20 on Sunday - I had earmarked it earlier in the week. but forgot. I'd been listening to Guy Garvey's show in the sunshine. He did a little tribute to his mother in law (Diana Rigg) for the second hour, and so I wasn't indoors to check the TV guide online for Sky Arts. Hopefully it'll be repeated at some time. Thanks anyway, Foggy. I'm relying on Sky Arts to help through the gloomy months to come.

I did,Helen, and it's a real treat of a programme.. I remember telling my son, enthusiastically, about it. He's a fan of music from all decades like his Mum and would appreciate it too.

I just finished watching it over 2 sessions and thoroughly enjoyed it. I always liked the Hollies and their songs apart from King Midas In Reverse.....

I was surprised that Graham Nash wasn't on He Ain't Heavy He's My Brother! I met his sister Elaine a few times, probably 20 years ago, at a friend's house. Friend was repairing Graham's nephew's school blazer on one occasion as he'd ripped it! He had just come back from spending time with 'uncle Graham' in the US. I could see the resemblence when my friend said afterwards.

Glad I eventually got round to recording it!

I saw Graham Nash at the Union Chapel a few years back. I've been there quite a few times. It's a lovely venue and I hope that one day things will change and I can go again.

During the interval, a wheelchair bound woman was in a bit of distress and she was wheeled through the doors that lead to the toilets and god knows were else. Seeing it was the interval, I decided to make the most and use them. As I pushed through the first door, I saw that the young woman was at the end of the short passage and Graham had appeared at the door where she was, which I now know to be the backstage entrance. He was asking her if she was okay and if there was anything he could do to help etc. Being a tactful kind of fella, I didn't stop to gawp or anything, as much as I wanted to - they were only a few feet away - and carried on to the Gents door. He's a class act, in more ways than one.

This was from that evening...the girl in the wheelchair can clearly be seen and I am in the front row near the piano and conveniently near the conveniences!

The song's for you, H!

Nice story Raver. Sounds better with just Graham singing!

It certainly lends itself to an acoustic version, H. I prefer it as well. Lovely chords.

Managed to record The Hollies when it was shown on Sunday. Top stuff. Still got an hour to enjoy and it's one to save. It's a British Invasion DVD, isn't it? I have a Small Faces one from the same series, which is also on You Tube. For all I know, The Hollies one might be on there, too.. Loving it.

Is this a different one from the one mentioned further up this thread? I saw it advertised and thought it was so didn't record.
