Graham is leaving the station, with his last show on Saturday 19th December. He will continue to present Eurovision and his TV chat show but will no longer be on the radio.
It'll be shame to lose him, not least because I worry who they'll replace him with!

I agree Ian. My first thought was who on earth will we get next.
I must admit I don't often listen at the moment but we did at least every other week when we were travelling up to the NE for football and heard some interesting interviews.

I think Graham's very good, and while I don't listen as much as I used to I do still enjoy his snark. He's got something about him.
Anyway, I'm expecting Rylan but someone's pointed out to me that it looks like Scott Mills could be leaving Radio 1, so maybe he's in the frame. |

He certainly has,Ian.
He does his own thing and somehow gets away with it on the BBC.
I love him. |

Joining Virgin Radio!

Must say I'm a bit surprised, considering how good the BBC have been to him. He won't get anywhere near the listening figures he does now, but Virgin must be paying him a lot. He's taking Maria with him but not producer Malcolm. |

So I wonder what will happen to her Sunday show?

That ended months ago!
If you remember, she used to do the Arts Programme but then was increasingly absent so they axed it. Then she did the Sunday show but was again not there much so they had to replace it (eventually with Sunday Night Is Music Night), and she also launched Sounds of the 90s but couldn't commit so Fearne Cotton replaced her.
Why they think this will be fourth time lucky is beyond me. This will end in tears again - especially if she takes a summer holiday then can't do Saturdays because of Strictly. |

I know that Ian but that was at the time Covid struck and of course she was always missing for Strictly. What I really meant was will FNIMN continue on Sundays or what will we get? Shudder to think really.
Personally I think FNIMN is suited to a Sunday night.

There's another Sunday shake-up coming, but I don't know the full details. I suspect FNIMN will stay, but there's no mention of any other commitments in the BBC's press release about Claudia today. |

I'm no fan of Graham Norton and Claudia Winkelman leaves me cold so looks like I'll be staying with Classic _________________ I will not be pushed, filed, stamped, indexed, briefed, debriefed or numbered. |

They like to put a TV 'personality' in the Saturday schedule. I used to like Jonathan Ross in that slot, chiefly because of his mate Andy's music choices. As much as I like Graham Norton's TV show, I rarely listened to the R2 one. I thought it'd be between the Winkle and Fearne Cotton. Be thankful it wasn't Alex Jones off The One Show... _________________ life is what happens to you while you're busy making other plans |

I used to like Ross in that slot as well OR. Haven't listened to that slot since he left. It always seem to be hosted by Shouty McShoutface. _________________ I will not be pushed, filed, stamped, indexed, briefed, debriefed or numbered. |

Shame that Danny Baker blotted his copy book a couple of years back.
It looks they're repeating a few In Concerts on Saturday and Sunday evenings but that might just be temporary. _________________ The wheel keeps on turning...

Danny would chew his own arm off, to get back on the radio. It's a pity, as I loved his radio work. And his books. He's a good man.
I don't really enjoy live concerts on the radio, Foggy. I like to be able to see them, too. Which reminds me - I watched a Cyndi Lauper gig...Austin City Limits I think it was called, last Saturday tea time. Astounding. I've always liked her, but I had no idea she would be so great live. I think Madonna and her various body parts stopped Cyndi getting the credit she deserves.
Six...I have no idea who Shouty McShoutface is (unless it's Chris Evans) but I had a good laugh when I read it! _________________ life is what happens to you while you're busy making other plans |
