I always thought that Be My Baby was 'the' perfect pop song. Ronnie's vocals, Hal Blaine's drumbeats, Phil Spector's magic wand...musical witchcraft.

Little did anyone know that Ronnie would spend years as a virtual prisoner once she married Spector. Eventually, she escaped and made more music, but her best years were surely stolen from her.

I had the front row pleasure to see Ronnie perform at a 60's thing at the RFH a few years back. She still had it. Those Ronettes records will live forever.
