I don't quite know how to put this, given the gravity of the event. But basically I have a new big boss, being a postie. HM Queen Elizabeth 11 has today joined my parents upstairs with the big man (I can imagine them at the pearly gates to welcome her in!) and now it's King Charles 111.

I think the nation is in shock - rudderless - I know I feel a little like that. The Queen has been a constant for as long as most of us can remember.

Seeing the notice on the gates of Buckingham Palace was a surreal moment - it just didn't look right.

She looked particularly frail in that last picture of her welcoming the new PM but nothing that led me to think that a couple of days later she would be dead.

I do hope that means it was quick and she didn't feel much,if any, pain.

After her life of service I think she was owed that.

R.I.P Elizabeth

Are the stamps ready to represent the new King, LEE?

It is a total shock.

RIP Elizabeth.

I dare say they will in due course, along with the coins and bank notes.

It's so surreal to even think about a world without our beautiful Queen.

The news still just doesn't feel real.
