In two of the pubs that I visit is this framed poster for when The Beatles played Aldershot.
Saturday 9th December
Big Beat Sessions
Palais Ballroom Aldershot
Battle of the bands
Liverpool Vs Aldershot
Beatles Vs Ivor Jay & The Jaywalkers
2 other star groups
7:30 - 11:30pm
Bar / Buffet 5/-
The questions that I have are:
What year did this happen in?
What became of Ivor Jay & The Jaywalkers?
Who were the other two star Groups?

Thanks again for that Raver. I was three at that time!! And I've just spotted my typo in the original post. The advert actually read Liverpool Vs London and not 'Aldershot'. There is a picture of the actual poster further down the 'Twitter' thread.

That would make a great poster Lordy. It's a shame it wasn't Aldershot on there. imo.
Did you see the link to a programme with the people who were there? I'm going to give that a listen. From Radio Frimley Park, no less! I spent many weeks visiting my youngest daughter when she had a horrendous car crash in Camberley and spent 4 months in Frimley Park Hospital learning to walk again.
