A much deserved hour's tribute to a legend, from the music world, this morning on Tony's programme.
RIP Burt - what a legacy of wonderful music you leave behind. x |

Will check it out Becky!
The Easy Hour on Boom last night 8-9pm also was all Burt Bacharach. It's on their catch up here :-

The last 30 mins that I heard were great so I'll listen again to the first half.

PS I read a comment somewhere that his songs were the soundtrack of her life, which I thought was very apt. _________________ 88 - 91 FM this is Radio 2 from the BBC!

What a portfolio of wonder Burt gave us. Pure class.
Slightly off topic but seriously...I have always noticed that in the US, the name Burt conjures up a hunk of man Lancaster, Reynolds and Bacharach, while the same name over here, spelt Bert, possibly gives an image of a cloth cap and a woodbine!
I love Magic Moments - his first hit I believe, right up to some of his later work, such as the collaboration with Elvis Costello. But before I was even aware of him, Dusty's I Don't Know What To Do With Myself, has always been a bit of a favourite. Gets me every time. And Herb Alpert's This Guy's In Love. Both were not originals, but for me, easily the best. Mustn't forget Hal David's lyrics, either, along with Dionne's interpretations. _________________ life is what happens to you while you're busy making other plans |

I have a memory of Burt singing Raindrops Keep Falling On My Head with Sacha Distel on a Sunday night variety type of show probably when it was a hit. I recorded it but long since lost.

Good to hear Are You There With Another Girl from Dionne Warwick - don't hear it that often. |
