The NHS is the "priority" for the Conservatives and will be improved for everyone, David Cameron has told the Tory spring conference in Nottingham.
He said government targets had turned the NHS into a "vast inhuman machine" and that only the Tories could restore staff morale and improve patient care.
The Tory leader also accused Gordon Brown - Tony Blair's likely successor - of being obsessed with spin.
Labour called his NHS claims "absurd" and said no one would believe them.

When will he realise that he's living in the dream world? He's being a young Tony Blair. |

I think unfortunately that targets and performance measures are with us to stay. How else do you measure whether we are getting value for the billions of £'s spent. The problem with the current set up is that the performance measurement can lead to cynical managers doing things to massage the statistics. _________________ His name was ernie ........ and he drove the fastest milk cart in the west..... |

I think you could call this selective memory. He chooses to forget that it was while his heroine and her successor were in power for 18 years that the NHS was almost destroyed. He should stick to hugging hoodies. _________________ Lord Evan Elpuss, Your ideal job is a Lumberjack. |
