Pete Mitchell (the better half of the old Pete and Geoff duo) is my favourite Radio 2 presenter. I do hope he is given a daytime slot on the station!

Pete Mitchell - the talking clock?

An unusual choice for sure!

Pete Mitchell doesn't have an ego the size of the universe. I think he's a genuine presenter! Love him to bits! Wink

Pete is a very laid back broadcaster. I do like his style, and he's been good covering for Dermot on a few occasions.

If he could string a sentence together without mumbling I might agree with you. As he can't, I won't!

At least they can speak intelligently - and they have personalities (whether one likes them or not). Pete Mitchell comes across as being an android.

Mitchell should apply to the speaking clock hall of fame as his entire show seems to be one long time check.

Really? Just like Sarah Kennedy should apply to do voiceovers for the AA (the organisation that rescues old bangers, I mean).

Rolling Eyes Confused

I'm not her biggest fan either, but your remarks don't make any sense.

The AA deals with old bangers. The other one deals with drunks.

I had the misfortune of hearing part of Mitchells show this morning. To say that they guy does not display much personality is the kindest way I can put it. He is so monotone and dull that I ended up switching to Capital Gold and Gary Ziepe who seemed to be spend 10minutes talking to a cabbie as part of his overnight show. But at least he displayed some signs of being alive while presenting his show.

Pete Mitchell often sounds like he's been clubbing prior to his show. I think the guy is fantastic on the radio; perfect quality for daytime Radio 2.

Rolling Eyes You must be joking. The guy can't do an adequate job on the graveyard shift and you want to put him on daytime Shocked

I caught him at the end of his show this morning - to me, he has a droning voice, one which just sounds miserable. Pleased he's relegated into the middle of the night, really and certainly not on my 'Listen Again' list.

Pete Mitchell,in my opinion, gets far too much stick. He's a decent enough broadcaster and seems happy with what he's doing on Radio 2. I particularly enjoy his Motown choices.

I think Pete Mitchell is good - he's very laid back, and that's good as it gives a contrast to the 'in-your-face TV Celebrities' like Chris Evans or Russell Brand.

I think Pete Mitchell is a reasonably good presenter; his musical knowledge is decent enough and his general style is OK. However, I get a bit frustrated with his inability to speak in sentences that don't contain a lot of "ums" and "ers" to the point where I often have to listen to something else. In that respect he sounds like a rookie local radio DJ. Still, better that than the afore-mentioned, overpaid, in-yer-face presenters!

I couldn't agree more. He's one of the best Lesley employed.

I don't understand. He's one of Lesley's best because of his ums and ers???
