Hi Natasha,
Thanks for the link....
Been playing that on my Hospital Radio show last couple of weeks- back to back with Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy Of Company B!
Couldn't decide if Aggie got inspiration from, or it was an homage to that song and '40's swing in general.
Now I've seen the video it's probably a bit of both
Love it, Xtina! _________________ He's not the Messiah- he's a very naughty boy! |

Is there a rude word in it? There's a moment when R2 seem to have fudged it.
Good video though! |

Ian,
R2 have deleted the word "panties" from the line "makes the ladies panties drop" & deleted "cherry" from the line " makes my cherry pop"
Yet they allow the following:
"Bullsh8t" in Pink Floyd's "Money"
The phrase "White N$gger" from "Olivers Army" by Elvis Costello
And, repeated uses of the word "B!tch" and "B!tches" in Dreams by Grace Slick.....
And those are just the ones that spring instantly to mind.
I think my response to such silly censorship would also need "heavy editing"

who decides which songs are EXPLICIT - you know the silly red writing on itunes
all Lily Allen's are - it's so daft - all 'Littlest Things' has in it that they seem to think is shocking is 'boxers' ooh me, oh my for goodness sake - they're taking it too far. |

Maybe they think mention of the word "panties" is too much for Wogan's delicate audience!

Radio 1 used to play 'Leap Up & Down & Wave Your Knickers In The Air' by St. Cecilia, and I'm sure 'Abracadabra' by the Steve Miller Band got by with the line about 'black panties'.
The military man's shout on the Aguilera record makes me think of 'Chipmunks Are Go!' on the first Madness album. _________________ We made a land where crap is king and the good don't last for long.

Your welcome, Ian.
Just as well Aggie didn't use the word "gusset".... The network might have gone into meltdown! _________________ He's not the Messiah- he's a very naughty boy! |

I love this record-it has really grown on me recently.
Very clever song.
Richard Allinson plays it non stop on his daily BFBS shows. |

I'll admit it had that rare effect on me- I loved it the first time I heard it, and that doesn't happen often.
And each time I've heard it since,it keeps getting better! _________________ He's not the Messiah- he's a very naughty boy! |

The version played by Radio 2 is very Andrews Sisters, and is OK. I don't have the album, but what I hear of the track on her website indicates that it's more hardcore or funky (for want of a better description) on that, and it's not exactly easy on the ear.
Although it feels as though they've been playing it for months it's not actually released as a single until April 9th. Wonder which mix they'll put out...
By the way, youtube have been obliged to remove the video. _________________ Ron |

Still tapping my foot to this new song-fantastic.
Must be a good chance this will go to number 1 in the charts. |
