Hi all you music lovers, I've been on a live music weekend to Llandudno this weekend and although I was not too sure before hand I had a great time. We stopped in The Queens Hotel, right on the promenade and had 2 great nights and a Sunday morning/lunch time of live music. It was what can only be described as country meets folk. On Friday the brilliant Bogtrotters Irish 6 piece acoustic band with supporting duo Iona & Andy, Saturday was Richard Palmer with Jim Donaldson & Kevin, Sunday was Iona & Andy plus Alistiar. The highlight for most of us was the Bogtrotters, superb musicians, with the stunningly attractive Eimear Bradley on fiddle, vocals and penny whistle. Her fiddle playing was just out of this world. Have any of you other posters been on one of these increasingly popular weekends away or seen any of the above live?

Not any of those, but on Saturday night I saw a couple of good bands at the West End Centre in Aldershot. 'Inside Information' from nearby Fleet and an instrumental band called 'Opus', not I suspect the same band that gave us 'Live Is Life'. This was an instrumental band who'se music reminded me of the epic stuff you used to hear on Alan Freeman's Saturday afternoon album track show on Radio 1. Certainly been influenced by prog rock.
