Entertainment show The Generation Game is to make a TV comeback with original host Bruce Forsyth at the helm.

Forsyth will resurrect his "good game, good game" catchphrase on the UKTV Gold show The Generation Game: Then Again.

The revamped show will combine archive footage from the original series with new challenges, including the famous conveyor belt memory game.

It is Forsyth's third association with the show, having fronted the original BBC show in the 1970s and 1990s.

Larry Grayson and Jim Davidson also presented the show, which was originally devised by a Dutch housewife.

Cuddly toy

It was the number one game show in the 1970s, and on Christmas Day 1990 achieved an audience of more than 16 million.

The Generation Game
The conveyor belt challenge always featured a cuddly toy
Each week, it featured four couples from four different families competing in quizzes and comedic challenges like pot-throwing and morris dancing.

It climaxed with the conveyor belt game where one contestant had to memorise a series of household goods as they travelled past.

The selection invariably included a cuddly toy.

Forsyth, 79, who now presents Strictly Come Dancing on BBC One, said he was "looking forward to bringing back some wonderful memories" on the new show.

The Generation Game is the third classic BBC format to be revived by UKTV Gold, joining Jim'll Fix It and Wogan: Now and Then.

I suppose you never know what is around the corner.

I'm no fan of Brucie or the programme but you've got to hand it to him for durability.

It's like they are packing them all in before they pop there clogs. Sir Terry, and Sir Jimmy now Brucie. Laughing

Who else could do now and then?

Radio do it, you will always find a old school DJ on a commercial or BBC network.
