Ex-BBC director general Greg Dyke has said he considered running for London mayor but has decided against it.

Mark,

I agree that Dyke would make a good mayor. When he left the BBC he always struck me as a stand up guy, able to communicate without political waffling and get to the point.

P.S. Gus, give it a rest and grow up, please.

In the telegraph today, it says Dyke has pulled out due to a challenge from Lib Dems. "I alway's thought it was a long shot and just decided I am not going to do it"
