Really enjoyed this show tonite and found the interview with Yusef Islam interesting and his interpretation of Islam refreshing but at odds with that of many Muslims I knew and worked with in Saudi Arabia. I just wish his kind of outlook on religious tolerence was more widespread amongst members of all religions, then maybe we could learn to live together with a little more harmony and tolerence of our different cultures and beliefs.
Thought the choice of music played was great, many of them I have on home made compelation CD's for the long drive home when I am not really in the mood for Eddie Mair. IMHO, this is now "a must listen to" radio show and feel that much of the early critism of this show was uncalled for.

Well the show changed, perhaps in response to the early criticism. But I agree that the show now is very good, except when Walker has some quack psyhic on the show which he still does ocassionally. _________________ His name was ernie ........ and he drove the fastest milk cart in the west..... |

Hi ernie, maybe you are right about the show changing "by request" of the listeners, however, I have enjoyed the show since it started. I am not into these "quacks", as you call them, yet I normally listen as I may just hear something to amuse or interest me. It's the laid back approach and, IMHO, the normally excellent choice of music, presented in a way that I appreciate, that makes it "a must listen to" radio show for me.

Well its not quite "must listen" to me, but when I catch it now I enjoy it alot. I enjoy Walkers music selection: its just right for a Sunday afternoon. I wish he would just play records for 2 hours though. I'm not really a fan of him laying out his political or spiritual beliefs on the radio.
One bum note is his overplaying Dixie Chicks stuff. I cant believe he played Travelling Solider for families of soliders in Afghanistan. The lyrics aren't appropriate for someone waiting for their loved ones to return are they? _________________ His name was ernie ........ and he drove the fastest milk cart in the west..... |

Nobody is perfect ernie, maybe he should have played "Born In The USA"? I like the Dixie Chicks, especially "Wide Open Spaces", but then I like contemporary country, which reminds me Johnnie could have played Ryan Adams, "When Will You Come Back Home"
