Rajar figures show the lardy loud mouth closing in on Sir Terry's pre-eminence in the listenership figures. For the last quarter Rajar revealed 7,061,000 people regularly listened to Chris Moyles, compared with 7,882,000 who listened to his rival on Radio Two.

What can we do to stop Moyles? Laughing

Is that the only show to have had any figures published this time?

I've hardly heard anything about the RAJARS this time but I think R2 as a whole were slightly down on the last quarter.

I think very little has changed

According to the press release: BBC Radio 2 has 13.25 million listeners – up on the year (12.94m) and steady on the quarter (13.27m). Share, at 15.8%, is slightly down on the year (16.0%) but the same as last quarter (15.8%).
========================
But they dont seem to have released individual shows figures except for Wogan, which is a shame.

It was at the time when Terry was going through a bit of a lean spell in his radio life though, the figures should have picked up next time *crosses fingers*

Apart from the Classic FM boastings, I have only seen:

Rajar press release 10 May 2007

No he things he's too big for his boots he might do well when the Mic is open, but when he gets emails and texts he doesn't know how to communicate with the listeners and the general public. Thats very bad, it shows how he is a rude arrogant person. He's human like us all, nothing really special to look at either.

Hello everyone you all fine? Another rant over Laughing Laughing

I'd say they must all have been slightly down then or they'd be singing from the rooftops. There has been very little in the press this time which is unusual.

Ken Bruce "let slip" that his figures are up - to his highest ever. Which must make him around the 7m mark, I think.

Chris Evans had an audience of 4.81 million in Q1. That compared to 4.83 in Q4 2006. So a small drop of around 20,000 which is statistically within the margin of error for these surveys. Wogan dropped 100,000 between Q4 and Q1.

I'm surprised the Evans bashers didn't come out of the closet after those figures were released.

If you round up yes he can!!

He has kept the same listenership virtually unchanged now for the last few quarters now, so us listeners are very loyal.

It's actually more than 5 million. Smile

I don't know anyone outside of the web-world who doesn't listen to Drivetime. It's in vogue to be in denial about enjoying the in vogue.

Well I wouldn't have thought that Terry is losing listeners to Chris Moyles, just losing listeners full stop. Since we lost Paul Walters, the show IMHO has gone rapidly downhill. It seems to have lost it's spark. The same old email contributors sending in spoof job applications for Boggy, Fran and Deadly, the same old music. It's become more of an elite club for a handful of Togs and Terry seems reluctant to do anything about it.

I always have my MP3 player on in the car for Sarah and Chris Evans, but tune into R2 between these times. I've found myself leaving the MP3 player on past 7.30 these days.

It has been good to have JW in this week, there seems to have been an injection of life and merriment into the mornings without being too over the top like the ILR's or too "in yer face" like Moylesy. This is how a R2 breakfast show should be and while I'm not suggesting for a minute that JW should get the gig, as he probably wouldn't want it full time, and I'm neither suggesting that TW should retire as I'm sure he'll go when he's good and ready, I do feel that this slot is due for an overhaul.

Just don't bring in Evans. Please! Noone is ready for that yet. Surely?

Actually I think it's picked up lately and has been a lot better. It's clear he misses Paul Walters a lot though, he mentions him often.

Either that or the competition is SO poor that by comparison CE seems to be worth listening to.

As for me, I think a bit of Classic FM to soothe me down the M62 this evening.

Classical music & jazz are two that I can't really connect with. I can cope with them in small doses and then I have to be in the right mood.
My bolthole from afternoon Radio 2 is 6 music. Yes I know it has the same controller as R2 but Nemone & Lammo are a far better alternative than Wright & Evans.

the jazz is ok but I find it a bit too mellow during the day. I like listening to Randell Lee Rose on Big L sometimes after Chris.
