Just to pass the time:-
Name the musicals that these lyrics are taken from:-
1) I am the sound of distant thunder, the colour of flame
2) Regular voltaire, thinks he's quite a lover
3) For when the day's hustle and bustle is done
4) Where's the Palace, I'm from Dallas, My name's Alice!
5) Sing a little and dance a little, be gay a little and play a little
6) But she was granted one more start, the covent of the sacred heart
7) Ruff. Ruff. the day has been Ruff!
I know now that you can't trust a daisy
9) I come to this country for opportunities, I work in Korean deli
10) Daddy played piano, played it very well...
Have fun!
And no googling - that's cheating!

OK - some more clues.
1) I am the sound of distant thunder, the colour of flame, I'm *****
I am the song of endless wonder, that no one will claim, and someday,
oh my someday, someone will know my name.
3) For when the day's hustle and bustle is done, the ****** **** work is but hardly begun.
4) Where's the Palace, I'm from Dallas, My name's Alice! It all starts now, I can see my name in Neon. This girl's a wow, all the magazines agree.
5) Sing a little and dance a little, be gay a little and play a little, take your troubles more and more to the family solicitor.
6) But she was granted one more start, the covent of the sacred heart. When d'you get here? 1920. How old were you? Don't remember.
7) Ruff. Ruff. the week has been Ruff! When you're stuck for life on a garbage scow. Only 40 feet long from stern to prow, and a crackpot in the bow-wow Ruff!
I know now that you can't trust a daisy, they blab ev'ry chance they get. I know now, it's impossible to rain a violet.
10) Daddy played piano, played it very well, music from those hands could catch you like a spell, he could make you love him 'fore the tune was done, you have your daddy's hands, you are your daddy's son.
Keep guessing! |

Doing well dottie!
1, 3, 4 and 5 to go. No. 1 is the hardest, no.3 the easiest (I thought). |

Yep - cats and carrie are correct.
Carrie was the hard one as only die hard theatre buffs have usually heard it and even fewer have seen it!
Even more clues for 4 and 5;-
4) Where's the Palace, I'm from Dallas, My name's Alice! It all starts now, I can see my name in Neon. This girl's a wow, all the magazines agree. And before too long, she'll be on some marquee. Gathering dust, she just survived, now new york or bust she's just arrived!
Alternate song from the show for no.5
5) There's no other girl I could wait for, But this one I'd break any date for,
I wont have to ask what she's late for, She'd never leave me flat, She's not a girl like that, She's absolutely wonderful And marvelous and beautiful, |
