A decade after Radio 2 presenter Sarah Kennedy coined the phrase, a survey of 1,500 van drivers shows that 93% reckon they are impeccable drivers.

82% of WVM have never made a rude hand gesture, 90% have never used their mobile phone while at the wheel, and 93% have never parked on double yellow lines.

But Sarah Kennedy isn’t having any of it and maintains many van drivers still go “too fast and too aggressively”.

Told the results of the survey, she replied, “Well they would say that, wouldn’t they. I am still not convinced that White Van Man is a force for good on our roads. I believe that most road users would say that the way WVM behaves often leaves a lot to be desired.

“Some white van drivers may be responsible, but I am afraid that there are still many that drive too fast and too aggressively. Let’s see if WVM has mended his ways by the time the next anniversary comes along, but my hopes are not high.”

Ere, what's your gripe, us WVM are real men and gentlemen to boot, if you say enifink else I'll cut you up in me souped white pug. It's these tarts in SLC's wiv micro skirts on, hidin behind the Ray.Bans and checkin their make up in the rear view what causes all the hassle mate! Wink
