Cant the singer learn the words to Abide With Me, rather than holding up the words to her face while singing. Is that too much to ask?

The stadium suffers from the same problem as the Millennium when the sun is out. The quarter of the pitch in the shade is barely visible on tv because its so dark relative to the rest of the pitch.

Watching the shadow creep across the pitch was probably marginally more interesting than the first half itself, Ernie.

(One of my colleagues brought a pocket TV in to work today so we spent the last hour getting bored stupid watching the match.)

Yes indeed. I dont think I've seen a less exciting game in a long time. They were playing for extra time since kick-off Laughing

Funny really. I had a bet down the pub that they would go to a penalty shootout and i might win meself a tenner yet!

How boring this contest between two public companies is. Lovely new stadium - same old boring football. Tch!

Well hard luck!
And at the risk of being pedantic Wink both Chelsea & Manchester Uts are private limited companies Laughing

A goal at last. Boring! (I am now a tenner down, I fear).

And private or public companies? Who cares? The game is so damned corporate now it makes little difference...

Gave up with the second half completely. Mourinho will be pleased at least, I suppose - something salvaged from the season apart from the Carling Cup. I bet Ferguson's face was a picture at full time - a bulldog chewing a wasp? Laughing

I was at the match today-whilst not the greatest of games but a great day out.

Have to say the stadium is magnificent-great facilities-plenty of toilets, refreshment stands, merchadise stalls, great views of the pitch, screens, plenty of leg room, wide seats etc.

Would also say prices are a total rip off though-10 a throw for a programme, 3.50 for a pint etc.

Still everything very well organiised as a Chelsea fanatic I'm obviously pleased with the result.

If your team makes to it a Wembley final then would recommend you go-fantastic day out.

Indeed! I remember thinking that at last year's Guildfest where programmes were 10 a time. Being an aviation enthusiast, I went to Farnborough airshow the following weekend, also not the cheapest of days out, but the programme was 6 and was the same size as the one for Guildfest. I can't compare beer prices as I didn't have any at Farnborough but at Guildfest it was over 3.00 a pint but don't think it was as much as you paid at Wembley.

shame about the pitch. The grass looked worse than a fairway after a major golf tournament.

Captive market though, isn't it - they can virtually charge what they like as they've got no competition.

LEE's mention of Farnborough got me thinking of the rip-off that are the major UK airshows each year. Inflated entrance prices, inflated 'concession' prices for food and drink stalls, crazy programme prices. Small wonder I don't attend them anymore.

The new Wembley has 2.500 loos and I was told that health and safety wanted all of them pulled at the same time to check the sewage was working. It's crazy as I doubt any of them would have been pulled at the same time.

5 for a burger disgraceful.

you might have thought that would have been considered at the planning stage seeing as most wembley games will draw a large tv audience. Rolling Eyes

a nightmare for the cameramen ( or women ) - phew! nearly un-pc there Exclamation
