Michael Barrymore: Arrested
Comic Michael Barrymore has been arrested by police investigating the murder of a man found dead in his swimming pool six years ago, sources said.
Barrymore, 55, was taken in for questioning with two other men by detectives in Essex.
Essex Police did not name any of the men but said said three suspects - aged 32, 37 and 55 - were being held on suspicion of the murder of Stuart Lubbock.
They were also being questioned about allegations of sexual assault, the force said.
Stuart Lubbock: Dead
Butcher Mr Lubbock, of Harlow, Essex, was found in a swimming pool at Mr Barrymore's home in Roydon, Essex, in March 2001.
Mr Lubbock died after going to a late night party with Mr Barrymore and some friends.
Post-mortem results showed he had suffered severe internal injuries which suggested sexual assault.
Alcohol plus Ecstasy and cocaine were found in his bloodstream.
A lengthy police investigation was carried out but no one was charged with any offence in relation to Mr Lubbock's death.
Mr Barrymore accepted a police caution for drugs offences following the original inquiry.
The force reopened the inquiry in December last year after a review of the first investigation.

This keeps coming back to haunt him. I thought he was in his room at the time. He was probarly so out of it and couldn't remember what happened? |
