Radio 2 presenter Chris Evans has paid another visit to his favourite English seaside town - and brought his mum Minnie along too.

They were spotted today on Worthing seafront and going into the Chatsworth Hotel in Steyne Gardens.

Several years ago Chris visited Worthing while courting his future wife, former Dr Who star Billie Piper.

They enjoyed a coffee at the Splash cafe, near Beach House grounds, and a beer in the bar of the Dome cinema. They also bought fresh fish from a beach locker, prompting Chris to described Worthing, on his radio show, as "wonderful".

On his latest visit he bought tickets at the Pavilion Theatre box office for a show, believed to be the The Billie Holiday Story, starring Rain Pryor, daughter of late US comedian Richard Pryor.

A slow news day in Worthing perhaps? Laughing

Well I suppose any publicity is good publicity, but I think the tide went out a long time ago and memories of happier times is all that's left.
Maybe a little seafront restaurant will survive the decline but even the name sounds a little dated and "tacky" now.

As for Worthing, wouldn't know, never been there.

Having lived in Worthing for 19 years (1969-88 ) and now only live 7 miles away down the coast, I can say that every day is a slow news day!
