What do we think about the current relevance etc of the Prince of Wales.
My own view is "what a complete waste of space"etc.
I fail to see the added value he brings to our country/the UK.
Hopefully Gordon Brown's administartion will carry out a review of the usefulness of this position/individual in the short term. |

Like him or loathe him, it's a bit unfair to label him as "a waste of space", Mark.
Devotes his time to charities, is president of no less than 16, draws attention to environmental issues, organic food products, architectural problems, and then there is the work with The Prince's Trust.
I'm not a particular fan of the Royal Family, but I can see their value in today's society. I wouldn't want Britain to become a republic. _________________ Author: “To the Ends of the Earth: A Snapshot of Aviation in North-Eastern Siberia, Summer 1992”

There are plenty of people I'd question the relevance/usefulness of before we reached HRH The Prince of Wales.... _________________ Author: “To the Ends of the Earth: A Snapshot of Aviation in North-Eastern Siberia, Summer 1992”

I'm no great fan of HRH but it's difficult for him to find a role when he's still waiting to do the job to which he's been called, at a time when his contemporaries are starting to retire.

He seems to do a lot of good work, especially in areas neglected by government. He may have a funny private life and controversial opinions but on the whole I think he's largely done good.
His reputation seems to have slipped thanks to the saintlihood of Diana, but I never much cared for her and am dreading the rest of Summer when the media will tell us how brilliant she was. |

He now seems a lot happier and contented person. _________________ Geddon
