Every time I try and sit down and watch something serious on the BBC-what happens-Fiona Bruce is involved.

I tuned into Andrew Marr's Sunday morning programme yesterday and there she is again-reviewing the Sunday papers.

This woman is here, there and everywhere.

I think the BBC should cut back on her appearances.

She does seem to be everywhere. A bit like Graham Norton.

...and she has the most insincere grin.

Didn't I read she is going to be a front person on the Antiques Roadshow shortly.

Did you know Antiques Roadshow is Jonathan Ross' favourite TV show-I won't be tuning in as I don't like it myself.

As you say Fiona Bruce must be coining it in with all these TV appearances.

I like antiques roadshow, I doubt it is Wossy's favourite, I think Dr Who is, maybe AR is his second favourite Laughing

And Fiona has even been on Radio 2 as can be seen below on the occasion of the 2005 CIN 'music marathon'. At the time, she was also presenting R2's The Green Room arts programme.

I heard her once described as 'the thinking man's crumpet'.

I'm saying nothing.... Laughing

Wasn't Carol Vorderman once awarded that accolade too?

Thanks for the link Ernie-bloody woman.

My wife's favourite programme ( and Jonathan Ross') is Antiques Roadshow-I won't be watching-I'll have to find something else to do.

I have no problem with her, not too cheesy like many others including some ex-news readers Laughing

She was good on the green room

The term "thinking man's crumpet" was originally coined by the late Frank Muir about Joan Bakewell.

Since then it has been over- and inappropriately used as a label for many other women. Given Fiona Bruce's less than incisive interviewing techniques (Rio Ferdinand, Cherie Blair) I don't think she qualifies. Carol Vorderman may be able to add up but can't seem to dress herself properly. And I think the correct term for Joanna Lumley is more "posh totty" than thinking man's crumpet. Rolling Eyes
