Did Stuart Maconie actually say "and mark your e-mails 'Suggs Competition'" at the end of the trail for the Madness/Guildfest competition - to win you had to e-mail in Graham McPherson's stage name.... and then Mark Radcliffe has just said "and you need to know that Suggs is Graham McPherson to win the competition".... Shocked Laughing

Am I missing something here? Laughing Laughing Laughing

Probably not! I've heard Mark do that before on his previous late show. As he said, It's a lottery anyway whether your name gets pulled out of the proverbial hat. Mind you, who wouldn't have got that, even without the cat being let out of the bag. At what point did he do it? I wasn't paying attention!

Come on Santa, even I know Suggs is/was the front man of Madness, has he not had a R2 show recently?

He's on holiday from Virgin at the moment - making inserts for Balderdash & Piffle and doing more ad voiceovers, I expect...

And I find that Maconie & Radcliffe comment funny. It's not exactly a tricky question - even if you don't know his real name, the question is basically "name the lead singer of Madness"

Chris Evans used to do that joke on TV Mayhem, his first TV show before he became famous - every competition was something like 'Name the captial of France - answers on a postcard to 'Paris competition', TV-am, Camden Lock'!
