Well you're Nicksheffield now, but you did login/join last year as Nick from Sheffield. Whatever, hope you can post this year, don't be shy now.
What do you think of the coverage/response to floods in Sheffield compared to Abingdon in Oxfordshire ? |

Welcome, Nick from the forgotten north. _________________ Geddon

For some reason I don't often think to come on to this board.
So welcome, Nick, and others whom I've recently overlooked.
My middle son teaches in Rotherham so we occasionally visit your area.
No floods up here now that I know of but some nearby areas suffered in 2005.

Okay...so I might be nine months late, but hello everyone and thank you very much for the warm welcome.
I have been a frequent reader of these forums however never until now have I peered into 'the welcome mat' - so thanks for the kindly introduction. Also, as I have explained elsewhere - I unfortunately completely forgot my username and password until it suddenly dawned on me yesterday afternoon...but now I have it written down, expect contributions a plenty ... someone needs to stick up for Sarah Kennedy after all....(I probably shouldn't have admitted that so early).
As for the floods - well, I'm actually living up in Glasgow at the moment and have been for the past year and a half so I was up here when the story broke. News 24 did its usual bang up job of making any story with a hint of seriousness into farce but footage of people being airlifted from Meadowhall was bound to bring a little bit of black humour :p
Hello to you all,
Nick. |
