ITV's updated version of Name That Tune is going to feature Gambo as a judge. Its hosted by Radio 1 DJ's JK & Joel and starts next Saturday night at 8.30.
Cant say it sounds too promising but we will wait & see I suppose. _________________ His name was ernie ........ and he drove the fastest milk cart in the west..... |

Saw some of this.
JK and Joel from Radio 1 are the genial hosts and Gambo asks the questions.
You have to sing the next line of a song..but in the final you heard a line from a well known song and had to sing the line BEFORE it.
Now that is hard but one woman did 3.
Seems a bit too drawn out for me!! _________________ The Voice of reason in a MAD MAD world |

A come down for Paul Gambaccini, but not as puerile as that baack-slapping marathon with Fern Britton and Matthew Kelly that followed it. _________________ We made a land where crap is king and the good don't last for long.

While it bombed in Britain, this show is currently the Number 2 show in America (after sports). Where did it all go wrong for ITV? Is it time for Gambo to go home...? |

Perhaps JK & Joel should go home as well
These shows do well on continental European tv. It must just be the British reserve that makes them seem a bit awkward. _________________ His name was ernie ........ and he drove the fastest milk cart in the west..... |

ITV bought the format without even seeing a pilot, and appear to have done a production without the lightness of the American version. Plus, they hired JK & Joel - the poor man's Dick and Dom. And that's poor! |

I just find it ironic that after 32 years Gambo suddenly gets a gig on primetime ITV but I can see why he was picked as a sort of benign Simon Cowell. The combination of him and JK and Joel is curious - perhaps Russell Brand and Ken Bruce can do a rival version for the BBC? |

Depends if he's as close to JK & Joel as he was (is?) to the previous Radio 1 Top 40 Countdown host... |

It may be a bit tacky but I've found it utterly addictive.

I will never forgive Gambo for saying Tony Banks should have stayed in the dressing room for all the excitement he lent Genesis's Duke tour.
Gambo was pally with Kate 'I felt so exposed' Bush at the time. At least Tony Banks could be arsed to go out on tour with Genesis after he turned 22 years old. _________________ We made a land where crap is king and the good don't last for long.
