The long-serving presenter of BBC TV's One Man And His Dog, Phil Drabble, has died at the age of 93.
Mr Drabble, who hosted the BBC Two show from 1976 to 1993, died on Sunday at his home in Abbots Bromley, Staffordshire, the corporation said.

My thinking, too. Lovely pregramme. However, I am quite surprised that anybody today might have even heard of it, let alone find Mr. Drabble's sad demise worthy of "reporting" in these forums. |

At times, I was one of those 8 million. A lovely programme, indeed. _________________ Author: “To the Ends of the Earth: A Snapshot of Aviation in North-Eastern Siberia, Summer 1992”

As it happens I didn't watch the programme but I remember Phil Drabble from other programmes--a real gentleman.

I suppose in a roundabout way he was responsible for an Oscar winning film, namely Babe. I cant imagine that being made unless One man & his dog had been on tv first. _________________ His name was ernie ........ and he drove the fastest milk cart in the west..... |
