Aled is back covering Dawn Patrol from 24th September according the Radio Times. He was asked to cover for her.
This must be her annual holiday which Sarah will be entitled to whether she was sick or not the other week. |

Who heard GMS this mrning?
Canon Ann Easter is worth hearing a lot more of. As with her colleague Canon Roger Royle, more clerics like her could encourage people back to church.

Mark, stating " he was asked to cover for her" made me smile! Do you think that any of the stand-ins aren't asked? Do they just roll up and get in the chair so the BBC can't stop them?!! _________________ MiS |

AND what do you mean "whether she was sick or not"??? Sarah has had pneumonia, is that serious enough for you? I don't think she needs your permission to take holidays. _________________ MiS |

I always have the vision some of the last minute standins just hangaround outside just waiting to be needed, or getting a phone call the night before saying we are stuck are you doing anything tomorrow at 6am ? |

I wish there'd be a clutch of stand-ins forcing their way in at 2pm Monday-Friday. _________________ MiS |

I hate all this God squad stuff on the Radio 2.
This is a multi faith country now-I don't think Aled Jones and his type should be given favourable air time over other faiths on main stream radio. |

You obviously don't listen to Aled's show because there are usually guests and discussions of faiths other than Christianity. |

Thanks essexlady.
I have not listened to the Aled Jones show for quite a long time-when I have in the past I seem to recall it was very much a Christianity slanted religious show.
Good to hear that guests and discussions of other faiths are included-I might start listening again. |

There has to be - something that the BBC is obliged to do under the terms of its Charter. All producers have very specific guidelines to follow in the respect. Just because Aled is christian should not imply that his show will have a christian bias - any more that TW's Thought for The Day should be either. |

Look at the Good Morning Sunday page for today:
"On Good Morning Sunday this week Aled's guest is the singer Beth Neilsen Chapman who has recently released a CD which draws upon numerous spiritual traditions from across the world.
And Dr Khalid Anis joins Aled to talk about the Islamic holy month of Ramadan which started last week.
Plus there's a special annoucement from GMS regular Canon Ann Easter."
ie Beth Neilsen Chapman's CD drawing on "numerous spiritual traditions from across the world." and the guest talking about Ramadan |
