Hi everyone. Just thought I'd drop in quickly. Haven't got time to stop at the moment but hope you had a nice weekend and are all having a good day and fine weather. It's not very good here in Holland. We live by a river and there is a thick river mist this morning which will probably last till well into the afternoon. Visibility is about 50 yards and it is gloomy and cold. Not very Christmassy at all!! Whatever happened to white Christmases? _________________ Friends may come and friends may go, but enemies tend to accumulate. |

They are a very rare occurrence in my part of the UK. I can't remember the last time I saw a white Christmas, it was probably the early 1980s some time. They are far more common in Scotland / northern England.

Had one two years ago, although I was staying with my cousin in the far north of Scotland on that occasion. I nearly didn't make it as the A9 north of Perth was extremely bad with snow on the Christmas Eve when I was driving up - I kept expecting the snow gates for the Pass of Drumochter and the Slocht Summit to be shut, and I went through three 'white-outs' near Aviemore. Didn't last, though - it was all away by Hogmanay!

Hello Annetta, a friend from the R2 boards. Thought you'd gone off us all now!
It's been cold but sunny in Cardiff, after a rainy start to the day. I don't like snow and ice though, I always fall and hurt my back again. I damaged two discs about 30-odd years ago and have had problems ever since. _________________ I like cats and music |

Morning everyone, what a misty moisty one it is here.
Can't stop but I'm glad to see the board's thriving - if I get time I'll be back later cos there's one or two topics I want to add my fourpence worth to!
White Christmases? Can't remember one since coming up to E Midlands, so that's pre-1967.
Bye! _________________ Ron |

Hi everyone. Hope you're all keeping well and having a relaxing weekend. The weather in Holland is horrible! Thick fog again. Still I suppose that could count as a White Christmas ... !! Can't stop as we are expecting the neighbours round for a visit and some lunch at any moment. Just wanted to say Hi and Bye and see you over the Christmas period I hope.
