Looks Good, especially Kenny Everett Smile

Will you all be listening ?

Let's hope they can get some more out of the archives for future Sundays.

Not quite sure how you can do a 40th birthday retrospective and NOT feature Ray Moore! Surley one of, if not THE most-loved broadcasters to ever grace these airwaves?!

It looks like Radio One will be good too? Tony Blackburn with Chris Moyles at 7pm, then other DJ's from the past during the day. Mark Goodier & Bruno Brookes back on the Chart from 4pm.

Sadly both he & / 'fluff' Freeman are up there broadcasting on that great radio station in the sky now. Presumably no Ray Moore shows survive in the archives? Not sure about 'Smashy & Nicey' on Pick of The Pops. I know they were supposed to be a spoof on Alan Freeman's style. Well we'll see.

There are, I believe, examples of four Ray Moore shows in the archives - one of him standing in for Wogan (produced by Paul Walters), extracts from a show broadcast on the 20th anniversary of Radio 2 (a clip can be heard on the BBC website), a Bog Eyed Jog, and - sadly - his last ever show from 1988, which I suspect isn't entirely suitable for broadcasting given the circumstances.

His specials with Tom Jones and the Carpenters are still knocking around too, and the latter was raided fairly recently for the documentary on Karen Carpenter.
