Was Mark Radcliffe having a rather pointed dig this afternoon at a certain Mr Wright?

Pretty much every song was linked by him announcing (just prior to the vocal starting) "they start singing now" or phrases to similar effect.

I thought it was hysterical Laughing

I'm sure it's nowt to do with me but my colleagues think Radcliffe's been making reference to the Wrightisms I brought up in my rant - such as all the comments about singing over records yesterday. Personally I think Radcliffe's smart enough to make digs at Wright without my help!

I did read on some other forums a few years back that he used to demand a lot and waving his hands around shouting when he was at Radio 1. The engineers used to have to wheel in extra cart machines when he was at Radio 1.

I suppose he still does something right as he attracts the listeners to the show. " If It an't broke don't fix"

What a shame you didn't say that to Lesley Douglas when she took over from Jim Moir!

Thing is, Wright and his show are broken.
His listening figures remain constant due to the static factor.... radios being on in factories and shop floors etc

I can't forget Jonathan Ross quoting Wright's alleged boast 'I am the BBC!' on air.
