Why on earth was John Humphrys given so little time on today's programme? His topic--the struggles of agnosticism--deserved far more.

Just thought--perhaps I should have put this on the gripes board. Apologies if this is the case.

It's a good point Ian, I don't think Aled Jones is right for this programme and never have.

He's on BBC Wales from 10am every Sunday. Know doubt it will be recorded. Also on BBC One " Songs Of Praise" So BBC religious department is keeping him busy.

I don't know why Radio 2 is using him to break into mainstream radio covering for Sarah and Ken?

A taste of his own medicine, since he cuts every body else off. I like it Laughing

Thanks for interest and support.

I imagine that apportionment of time to guests is in fact an editorial decision and isn't made by AJ. Does anyone know for certain?

It makes me think that, maybe two hours isn't quite long enough for a show where the guests are interviewed at length. More than once I've noticed this kind of thing with Jeremy Vine's show, another one where they try & cram in depth interviews into two hours, with the result that the show sometimes comes across as rushed.

I like John Humphrys very much as an interviewer. Anyone see him on TV in 'Whatever happened to Radio 4?' I have his book 'Lost for words'(which he certainly isn't!) and a tale therein about him interviewing Tony Blair, and Alastair Campbell's reaction to the tough questions is hilarious!

I think Humph is wonderful both as an interviewer and a writer. He has a book out at the moment about religion.
