How has this loudmouth managed to retain his slot for this amount of time on Radio 2?

Answer 1: Because la Douglas loves him, and

Answer 2: Because people are gullible enough to listen to him!

Lesley Douglas has a strange vision for Radio 2: a clouded one?

As for listening to Russell Brand, I have done a few times - when highly intoxicated. He gave me a hangover.

This thread should be in the gripes section. Never mind hopefully John will be able to move it?

To be honest he's very loud and the show was meant to cater for those who are getting ready for there Saturday night out. Laughing If he stays, pray to god they don't move him. Best place for him, but I feel sorry for Bob Harris having to follow him. I bet he switches off? Also I think the show should be rested for part of the year, and given a summer season slot?

Because nobody listens to Radio at that time on Saturday nights anyway, so nobody gives a flying figg who is presenting.

Until Ms. "My listeners get what they're given" Douglas decides to bump him to a prime slot. I can only be a matter of time - just like with that pillock Evans.

My guess is a lot more people USED to listen to Radio 2 on a Saturday night in the days when concerts, the Critical List and the documentary all formed part of the line-up between Paul Gambaccini and Bob Harris. Nowadays it's a documentary followed by 2 hours of puerile nonsense from the man in drag.

The word "Douglas" isn't a swear-word, is it?

I agree; Saturday nights have been dumbed down in the same way Drivetime has. The same has also happened to Saturday afternoons when the brilliant Richard Allinson was on from 3.30 - 6.30pm. That show was the highlight of my week. Nowadays we've got the crap Dermot O'Leary on instead. I think it's an insult that they've swapped him and Maconie around.

Dermot O'Leary makes Saturday afternoons sound like Essex FM.

I thought O'Dreary looked really cool in that suit on the "Y? Factor" on Saturday night.

OK, I lie. Smile

It was bad enough when dreary old Desmond Carrington was on Sunday lunchtimes playing his crackly 78s. Elaine Paige is far from an improvement. She makes Sunday lunchtimes sound like Ballamory. It's time she was sacked alongside Steve Wright, Chris Evans, Russell Brand, Jonathan Ross and Dermot O'Leary. The lot of them, including Elaine Paige, are overpaid and overrated morons unsuitable for Radio 2.

Alan Titchmarsh is just as bad. He's on ITV1 during the week, BBC One midweek and his documentary series on Britain is often being repeated on UKTV History. He made a comment on the Steve Wright show the other week that he's worried in case people start to get sick of him. It's too late, Alan. People already are. You're the male equivalent to the talentless Myleen Klass, who seems to have her snout in every trough these days. I'm surprised Lesley Clueless hasn't given her a slot on Radio 2 - yet.

He looked fat. Maybe he's been clubbing too much with Lesley Clueless?

It most certainly is! The name is barred in Islamic countries.

Scott,

Please don't get back into Clout mode Evil or Very Mad

We know you don't like 90% of Radio 2 so just remember that over 10 million DO listen to that 90% of Radio 2. Just try saying you don't like the show because you dislike the style or the music, we might have a discussion then Rolling Eyes

And I find it hard to believe 5.08 million of them tune into loudmouth on Drivetime.

A squirt of WD40 on the tuning dial should solve the problem.

I think Russell Brand could do with drinking a gallon of WD40. That might take away the constant shrieking and screaming he does. Most of the time he sounds like a rusty, cast iron garden gate. Chris Evans isn't that much better.

The Best of......... ? Blimey, gimme another beer. I need it.

It's as daft a concept as "The Chris Evans Best Bits" podcast. We're not talking much in terms of time here then!
