Does anyone else feel Kelly Osbourne was way too young to play Mama Morton in the stage show? Queen Latifah was excellent in the role in the movie.
The role onstage ought to have gone to Michelle McManus or Mica Paris.
More recently I've had Cell Block Tango in my mind since Heather Mills was on GMTV! Altogether now, 'he had it coming...' _________________ We made a land where crap is king and the good don't last for long.

I was telling my girlfriend that Osbourne was playing Mama Morton on stage, but after a brief discussion we decided I must have mis-remembered the story - she's so wrong for the part, and we just couldn't get our heads round it. |

I tend to agree with that although I haven't seen her so can't really comment performance wise but she does seem a lttle young to me to. _________________ Put some records on while I pour |

Did I just see a point whistling past?
Chicago is now a long running show and has always relied on big names to draw in audience. The producers cast big names for short runs in the show in various roles. Kelly Osborne is playing at the moment because she's a draw and they can afford her. I stongly doubt they would have ever booked michelle mcmanus and Mica Paris may well have been approached at some point.
The producers always look for someone to act as a draw. Unfortunately we live in an age where celebrity is more important that appropriateness for a part (although to be fair to Chicago, celebs are usually well cast).
