|
|
Following my return from holiday I am acting as a house husband while on garden leave from my employer until I start a new job in January.
This past week I have been on house duties-washing, ironing, cleaning, food run to Tesco's , have washed and cleaned the car out, am preparing and cooking the evening meal , am acting as a taxi service in picking my wife up from the station in the evenings, have swept the garden front and back (twice) re clearing up leave fall, have cleared all the gutters of leaves, have washed the windows, have painted our downstairs toilet.
In short I'm knackered. The R2Ok! Forum and a daily dose of Richard Allinson on BFBS Radio 2 have been welcome reliefs.
Can't wait to start my new job for a rest. One thing I have learned for sure this past week-"keeping house" is a bl..y sight tougher than I ever imagined.
What do others think of domestic life? |

Yes quite right.
My wife is somewhat delighted with the current situation as you can well imagine. |

Really, is that all you've done so far????
When I sampled the delights of housewifery I also redecorated the house right through in the space of four weeks. Come on, get cracking - there's no time to lose. It'll be New Year before you know it, and then you can have a rest when you go back to work. |

I find this all very amused. Why do i marry a wife for me to do the housework? It is silly. |

Yes but Matt, in UK after 30 years of marriage the employment roles/status can be reversed. Almost happened to me |

After almost 40 years of marriage she's gone, I work full time, manage the household, a rest, chance would be a fine thing!

I'm fine thanks Santa, life has it's ups & downs and as Ogri says, putting 2 fingers up to the world, " stuff everything, I've still got me bike".
