Well, my guess is either Johnnie Walker or Richard Allinson will be covering Terry Wogan over the festive period. Cool

Whilst on pop master today RA mentioned he would be interviewing Gabrielle on Sunday and would play some new music from her.

Certainly something to look forward to.

Allinson rocks for the BBC.

Mark,

I don't know whether the show is going to be broadcast live. Will you e-mail Richard Allinson and pass on our regards?

See, Anytime Richard is on is great news but it got me thinking about Richard's relationship with the BBC. I simply cannot work it out. He used to be the main cover, now Aled 'Walking through the air thief!' seems to be the current choice.

Yet, he did the voice over for the recent Diana concert and now he's covering a Sunday show - usually Aled's area.

I remember about this time last year he mentioned he was going into meet Lesley for a meeting, hat came of that? was it a "Cheers, Rich but you're not famous enough for this station, yes I know you are a rare comodity - i.e. a true dj who knows his stuff, but this is the dumming down culture. i mean, you haven't even been on telly for ages!"

Richard, as Mark says, does indeed rock!!!

Andy, posting his colours to the Allinson mast!

P.S. - oh, hope you enjoyed your birthday last month, Rich.

Johnnie Walker does. I think the apperance on Pop Master was to promote him back to Radio 2, and to pre record Gabrielle who is on the show?

Yes Andy- I too remember Richard mentioning he had an important meeting months ago with the powers at be at the BBC. I seem to even recall he mentioned he had turned up for work suited and booted for the meeting.

Does not like that meeting too well-we never heard anymore about it and Richard still does not have a permanent gig on Radio 2.

Will he been considered along side others for the Parkinson slot post January 2008-I really hope so.

He mentioned yesterday that he'd been at Radio 2 "on Friday". What did that mean?

Pre-recording programme segments? Recording on-air trails?

He was of course a pop master contestant last Friday on the Ken Bruce show- he lost against Jim Dooley.
