Former Capital Radio presenter Tim Litchfield has secured Greg Burns former slot on Virgin Radio. Tim is currently covering the overnight show but will take up the position full time from January.

Tim told RadioToday.co.uk: "I'm really looking forward to it. Virgin is a station I've dreamed working for. David (Lloyd) is taking it in the right direction and making it even stronger than it already is."

Virgin seems to be recruiting a mixture right now. It's as if it's trying to compete with Radios 1 and 2 now.

Capital have dropped Bam Bam and brought Margherita Taylor back to do a daytime show.

That must out Bam Bam in the reckoning to replace Parky then so? Wink

Capital 95.8 weekday evening presenter Bam Bam has left the flagship GCap Media station, RadioToday.co.uk can reveal. His departure comes as new managing director Paul Jackson oversees further changes to the daytime line-up.

Bam Bam, real name Peter Poulton, was famously fired from his former station Kiss 100 in 2006 after attracting the largest ever radio fine whilst hosting the breakfast show. He joined Capital Radio in March this year to present the evening show with his former on-air colleague street boy.

In other changes, Margherita Taylor is set to takeover mid-mornings and new signing Greg Burns will host drivetime, replacing Lucio who is relegated to the evening show.

Greg Burns was set to replace James Cannon on mid-mornings but further changes are expected to be announced.

Paul Jackson said: “ I am delighted that a presenter of Marghertia’s standing and class will be following on from Johnny Vaughan everyday, there is really no better combination in UK radio. At the other end of the day I am thrilled to welcome Greg Burns to the Drivetime show; he’s an experienced quality broadcaster and will be a core part of the future of Capital. With Greg taking over Drive, it’s an exciting time for Lucio as he can really spread his wings in his new show which host major interviews, live sessions and premiere action. We’re sorry to see Bam Bam go as he has served the station well over the last year but we need to look forward to defining Capital for 2008. “

He could join Virgin Radio?

I thought I revealed it before you Wink

Anyway as a link to one of your other stories Bam Bam didnt do himself any favours by belching & farting on-air. Maybe Radio 2 will sign him up after all then. Rolling Eyes

Bam Bam must have left quick as they haven't removed him from the website. Margarita is holding onto the show.

Hi Ernie-Ken Bruce did belch live on air-he didn't tried to laugh it off or apologise. I didn't think at the time it was very professional but as other presenters seem to do it then maybe its par for the course these days.

Anyway I am still not a fan of Ken Bruce.

I reckon James Cannon could take over Gold breakfast once he leaves Capital Radio? He's not leaving the G-CAP only the station..
