I fancy the Robert Plant & Alison Krauss, and the Steve Earle gigs, what about you?

Mrs W is dropping jolly great hints re an Alison Moyet concert at the Gateshead Sage on Sun 3 Feb.
Not sure if I can even go that day. Should I turn out to be free, would you recommend it?
We are both looking forward to going to hear Elton John in Darlington on Sat 5 July.

I don't fancy travelling to concerts now, in fact I don't think I was too keen in my younger days! the last band I went to see was Aerosmith at Wembly Arena and Madonna's Steel Wheels tour before that at the Stadium.
I couldn't be bothered now.. too much hassle, but if I could see a concert it would probably be Led Zeppelin ( if they decided to do concerts for anybody other than the mega rich! )
I'd also love to see Cream again and The Police too... _________________ Johnnie Walker read out my message on Pirate Radio! 13/8/07

In the new year, I will try and get tickets for 'Chumbawamba', Maggie Bell / Dave Kelly and a few others. _________________ Lord Evan Elpuss, Your ideal job is a Lumberjack. |

Gemma Hayes promoting her forthcoming album "The Hollow of Morning", hopefully there'll be a local gig on her UK tour but I'm prepared to travel if not.... _________________ Author: “To the Ends of the Earth: A Snapshot of Aviation in North-Eastern Siberia, Summer 1992”

I'm understand there will be a double headline gig with Def Leppard and Whitesnake this year.
Quite fancy that myself. I saw Whitesnake last year (or was it the year before, my memory isn't what it used to be) in Bradford and Dave Coverdale is still as good as ever. I'd love to see them play a good ole blusey set though. That was WS at their best. _________________ Mig |

Been busy moving in with my delovely lady these last couple of weeks, so not been posting, hence this is late.
We went to Wembley Arena on the 22nd to see Robert Plant & Alison Krauss, it was excellent. It was a sell out, the atmosphere was electric, the performance was just exceptional. The highlight of the night for me was when Alison sang "Lets Go Down To The River & Pray", I have never heard a music concert go so quiet, her voice was as clear as a bell and the harmonies provided by the backing singers, one of whom was Robert Plant, were unaccompanied and pitch perfect.
After a 5 - 10 minute standing ovation, they returned and did 4 more songs.
I heard Johnnie Walker say on Thursday morning that he was hoping to get tickets for this gig, I hope he did as he really missed something special if he was not there; we missed "wake up to Walker" on Friday morning as we had a lay in.
Last night we went to see the Stawbs in concert at the Sleaford Little Theatre, it seats less than 200, we were only 10 feet from the stage. Another excellent gig, but too short for this tremendous folk rock band.
