Reunited rock group The Police had the highest-earning music tour in North America in 2007, official figures show.
The band's 54 gigs in the US and Canada generated $131.9m (£66.5m), almost double the total of the second-placed act, country star Kenny Chesney.

So if the tickets were about 100 dollars eash then average audience was abouit 20,000. Good point about trucks marc, as these figures do not take into account the cost of putting on the tour, a few million I'm sure. |

Hi John and Mark. I think these mega tours are usually sponsored by some corporate giants in the USA. Certainly all of the Country Music star tours are from what I understand, selling beer, soft drinks or fast food at the venues. I wonder if Sting went along with this, it it was the case. |
