I am quite surprised that Pete Mitchell wasn't a stand-in for any of the presenters over Christmas and the New Year.

The guy is so underused on Radio 2.

That's because you don't know quality when you see it.

I prefer Jimmy Webb. PS He is a songwriter, Scott. 'Galveston', 'By the time I get to Phoenix', 'Highwayman', etc. Mostly associated with Glen Campbell's recordings.

I saw Glen Campbell earlier this year at the Liverpool Empire. He was in top form. As he was in Liverpool he sang 'Yesterday' and asked if Paul McCartney was in the audience. If he was he didn't pipe up. No, that wasn't a reference to 'Mull of Kintyre' or 'Amazing Grace.' Luckily Glen didn't play his bagpipes that night, though he did play his guitar behind his head, Jimi Hendrix style! Laughing

I believe Harry Webb once entertained at Wimbledon, and I don't mean as a player. Wink
