So the Government has ploughed millions into the NHS over the years, and now they want us all who need it to queue up for an MOT health check to see if we are fit enough. Will they as well, MOT those who are claiming Benefits for no reason?

In theory a very fine idea.

However, they need to sort out all that is very wrong and inefficient with health care and GP services for the sick and injured now before burdening them all with a requirement to screen ostensibly healthy people.

To start with a serious point, I doubt if my GP practice would currently have the capacity to take on this volume of extra work, however desirable it might be to have it done.

But I'm in pretty good standing with my local garage and my car is getting due a service and MOT--do you think they would do a two-for-the-price-of-one on the car and me? What if I failed the MOT? Would Mrs W have the option of having me written off?

Ian.
