Following his sell-out Edinburgh show last year, the UK’s most famous hospital radio DJ Ivan Brackenbury is to take his roadshow across the UK, beginning a 27 date tour at the end of the month. It has also been announced he will make his presentation debut on Radio 2 later this year.

The “Cheerful Earful” was an If.comedy award nominee at last year's Fringe in Edinburgh, and is probably the highest profile personality across all the hospitals of Chesterfield and North Derbyshire.

That's all we need... Another bloomin' comedian Rolling Eyes

I've not heard him, though. Anyone been unfortunate enough to be hospitalised in North Derbyshire recently?

It'll be his comedy stint at the Fringe and sadly not his Hospital Radio broadcasting that has got him noticed. Celebs, Celebs get rid of the lot of them I say.

He's not a "celeb" - he's a character comedian, like Count Arthur Strong and John Shuttleworth. Simply dismissing him because he's vaguely well-known seems a bit daft.

I'd have thought a comedy show based around hospital radio would be ideal for Radio 2's Comedy Hour. Despite the best attempts of his leafleting girl, I did not see Brackenbury's Edinburgh show but it's got good reviews, is currently doing well on tour, and I don't see the problem with radio signing him up.

The clip on You Tube has him playing "Dont You Forget About Me" for the Altzimers patients.
