Who is she? I keep hearing on the TV that the problem is caused by 'Beryl Hughes roaming the streets of our cities and towns.' Is she any relation to Laura Norder I wonder?  |

Only inasmuch as Laura Norder doesn't seem able or willing to do much about the Beryl Hughes, and if more emphasis was placed on radio and TV newsreaders etc speaking clearly, rather than worrying about the desirability of having regional accents, then we'd all be able to understand what the chuff they're on about

This reminded me of the Radio 1 competition where it sounded like 'the five lucky Africans will win a calendar...' when it was actually the five lucky applicants.
