That CD seems interesting on the ads. Bin the paper, keep the CD I suppose.

Yes, just view it as a CD for £1.40, and decide if it's worth that to you.

I was tempted by this offer but I doubt if they're the original recordings.
I've noticed this before on these free discs, most tracks are alternative takes or live recordings.
I could be wrong.

The first two tracks on Disc 1 are live recordings.

Yes Cherskiy, I just popped into the metropolis to buy the newspaper just for the disc! Razz
Bit disappointed by "Hit me with your rhythm stick" being live as that's the track I particularly wanted, but, the inclusion of "Is Vic There", "Always find me in the kitchen at parties", "Breakaway" and "It's my party" make it worth the £1.40 I've spent.
Now I just have to find somebody who'll buy a cheap newspaper....

I nearly went and bought it myself just for Department S's "Is Vic There?" Nearly, that is. Haven't read the Indie for years.
