Interesting Quote from the Archbish

"It seems unavoidable and, as a matter of fact, certain conditions of sharia are already recognised in our society and under our law, so it is not as if we are bringing in an alien and rival system".

I had a strange vision of Skull choking on a bacon butty as he read that.

They have to accept British Law and there wont be a seperate Law when we are on alert over Terrorism.

I don't really know anything about this subject (which doesn't usually stop me from putting my twopennyworth in!) but I noted that on Question Time last night all five panellist dismissed the Archbishop's remarks. It's not often that they all agree like this. And today's press seem to be on the same tack.

Ian.

The Archbishops comments were dangerous and should be kept to himself, and get on with the job in hand which he was appointed for.

So can RC's, Jews, atheists, agnostics all have their seperate laws as well? Or is it just Muslims?

What if an RC marries a Muslim? Rolling Eyes

I heard somone speaking in defence of the venerable Archbishop on Vine this morning, saying that some Muslims experience conflict over British law. Well, I experience some conflict over the laws in Saudi Arabia, Iran, Iraq etc........ particularly in the way that they treat women.

I've found a very useful way of dealing with that conflict... I don't go and live there. Rolling Eyes

Friends of Dr Rowan Williams say he is in a state of shock and cannot believe the criticism from his own Church.

What was he expecting exactly? Rolling Eyes

I'm sorry but I don't see why muslims should have their own laws when they live in this country. If we start this then where does it stop? it would be a slippery slope IMO.
So they don't like our laws, well tough, this is still the uk (just) and if they don't like it they don't have to live here, simple as that.
We don't expect other countries to adopt UK laws just for us do we.

The Sun called him "a silly old goat" but added that his statement was dangerous.
Interesting that the Muslim Association of Britain- part of the Islamofacist Muslim Brotherhood- were full of praise for the silly old Goat

"Goat Club Weekly" complained to the Sun indicating he looks much more like an old Lama or, maybe the lead singer with the eyebrows from Doctor and the Medics.
