Anyone hear Sheryl Crow on Radcliffe's show last night? I couldn't bear the concert, as the first hour was so bad. Her new stuff is dreadful: whiny, endless things that screech on and on, full of platitudes and insincerity - no doubt we'll be hearing them all again for months!

Shame on Radcliffe for fawning all over her, and Maconie must be counting his blessings he's on Drivetime this week.

I visited Listen Again - the concert wasn't so bad, mainly because it was all music and no Radcliffe brown-nosing (except the introduction). She wisely alternated new and old songs; the new ones are unremarkable but inoffensive musically. I've certainly heard worse.

Lyrically, well it's always hard to take seriously someone who has previously sung about having fun soaking up the sun tackling more weighty political and personal subjects, even allowing for the fact that you can understand her need to express something of the difficult and harrowing experience of radiotherapy.
